Very convenient location wise and place is surrounded by food places. It's about a 15 min walk (I'm slow) to walk to the SMN train station but it was a good walk (WITHOUT luggage). It is a fairly old historic city so as you can expect the roads are not great and we had 1 fairly big suitcase and 3 small ones. The hotel itself was good value, nothing fancy if you're expecting that. There was a bit of a smoke smell when we went it initially so we let the room air out and it got a bit better. The room and bathroom were good. We had a mini kitchen that we didn't use. There are lifts to get to your room if upstairs. The first night we had problems with the AC but reception closes at around 9 or 9.30 I believe so we waited till next day. We just opened the window to sleep. The guy next day came in as soon as we told him to fix it (turns out we didn't turn it on correctly). The staff member was so incredibly nice and funny. The room itself faced residential flats at the back so I did see people put up their washing or watching TV lol and not on purpose, but whilst sitting on the balcony! We were a bit at the other side of the Duomo with the hotel and there was a bit of walking but hey can't complain in a summer night. We'd stop and take pictures or grab a gelato! Our last day in Firenze was nothing short of a nightmare, we had to get to Milan (had around 13 hours infront of us, it takes only 3 hours to get there) to catch our flight. There was a train strike...I guess it didn't come to our attention due to the language barrier. We tried and come back yo the hotel and the staff tried to help us by looking for alternatives and finally booked us a cab to a coach station. I don't know your name BUT THANK YOU!! Ps. We ended up missing the coach (although we were early and it got delayed by an hour so we went inside to grab food and it came earlier than its expected hour and left...

This property is located about 15 minutes walk from the train station and right along the main road to Porta Al Prato, a small ancient arch that is the gateway into the city. It is located just outside the busy area of the town but perfect for us. There is a wonderful coffee bar at the corner which we frequented every morning for pastries and of course, cappuccinos and macchiatos. This was like a 1.5 to 2-star hotel with a lobby and locked front door. We were arriving late so we called ahead and the front desk said they would wait for us. They also kept our bags on the last day after checking out which was a big bonus since we didn't have to pay to store them at the train station. The lobby is very large and plenty of seating. There is a water cooler to fill up your bottles and vending machines packed with snacks. I was pleasantly surprised at the large size of the rooms. We got a room on the 4th floor and it was clean, and organized. The bathroom was large and the heating was adequate in winter (we went in December). The unit we got had a sofabed, 2 rooms (1 with a double bed) and another with a queen. Wifi is free but a little slow. We visited a lot of places in Italy during our trip and Florence was the nicest. Could we have stayed at a better place? Yes. But this hotel was great for our first visit and the staff was so friendly compared to everywhere else we stayed. There is parking available in the basement, but we walked and taxi'd everywhere. We got really good value for this hotel and happy we stayed there.

Residence Porta al Prato gave us all that we needed for our 5-day stay in Florence: space for 4 adults. With all the amenities, 24-hr hot water, clean rooms and bathrooms, A/C, well-equipped kitchen with a lot of snacks and goodies and all the things people wrote about it on bookings.com. Though what people didn’t mention was the interesting view from our 5th floor balcony. It was great to wake up to and a tad sad when we had to leave. The location was a bit away from the Centre (10-15 min walk) but we enjoyed the walk after the sumptuous Bisteca ala Fiorentine and the works. The advantage of not being in the Centre: decently priced rooms and the walks along the ‘Arno’ river with a line-up of the most gorgeous buildings. However, the tram to the Centre (one stop) was a 2-min walk with excellent frequency. Full marks to the staff at the reception. They were courteous, knowledgeable and their tips on what and where to eat (where locals go) were spot on. Thank you.

We stayed 5 nights at residence porta Al prado The appartement was very clean and as descripted on the website. The beds are good ( excellent mattresses) one real positif point is that the windows are new added with the climate system the inside temperature of the flat was very good and we sleep quiet. ( outside 38 !! ) Other positif point is the parking inside a courtyard with a gate and camera ( really safe ) Around you can find nice and good pizzeria( 5 minutes to walk) and many other restaurants. Firenze center and the high lights to visit are around 20 minutes by walk We really appreciate this residence for our 5 day stay. The price is not excessif compare to other. The manager at the desk was really helpful and friendly.

The hotel is located a good 15-20 minutes walk from the center of Florence. We didn't mind about that. There was a parking lot provided by the hotel with a reasonable daily rate that we've used for our car. The room decoration and style is old fashioned but we didn't mind since there were two bedrooms in the room. It is extremely difficult to find two bedroom rooms in Florence. Usually you get one double bed and one sofa bed. Although the room as mentioned was old fashion the beds, the living room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. We had a good experience and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
